The Science
Charge’s scientists and formulators chose exactly the right ingredients in the right ratios to give you the energy boost you need. Sounds too good to be true, right?
No, actually, it’s just genius science.
Niacin
“Like the other B vitamins, niacin helps make energy in your body. It helps your body use carbohydrates, fatty acids, and proteins.” - University of Rochester Medical Center
“Your brain needs niacin — as a part of the coenzymes NAD and NADP – to get energy and function properly.” - Shanghai Arch Psychiatry. 2012 Dec;24(6):352-4
Vitamin B3 is critical for the role it plays in the body’s metabolism, which is every biochemical process that occurs in your body and keeps you alive, specifically because vitamin B3 is a precursor to NAD+, or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, a coenzyme that declines with age.
Taurine
“Taurine is one of the most abundant amino acids in the brain, retina, muscle tissue, and organs throughout the body... taurine deficiency is associated with cardiomyopathy, renal dysfunction, developmental abnormalities, and severe damage to retinal neurons.” - Emory University and the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center
An amino acid is important in several of the body's metabolic processes, Taurine is thought to have antioxidant properties. A growing number of studies are showing that when taurine and caffeine are combined they may improve mental performance.
Caffeine
“The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has concluded that a cause and effect relationship has been established between a 75mg serving of caffeine – the amount found in approximately one regular cup of coffee – and both increased attention and alertness.” - Journal of Basic Clinical Physiology & Pharmacology
It’s a natural stimulant most commonly found in tea, coffee, and cacao plants. It helps you stay alert and some studies have concluded it may improve mood and brain function when used responsibly.
